Materials We Cannot Cut

Metal — We do not cut metal with our CO₂ laser. However, we can mark or engrave onto certain metals using a specialist marking compound. Please inquire before ordering.

PVC — PVC must never be laser cut. It releases chlorine gas which is toxic to humans and will destroy the laser machine.

Wood Grades — Class 2 wood may leave slight charring on edges which is normal. Class 3 wood is difficult to cut, chars heavily and cuts unevenly — we generally do not accept it. We can supply Class 1 plywood suitable for laser cutting. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Our stock of Acrylic and specialist wood panels is specifically selected for laser cutting. Most of the wood we like to laser cut has class 1 glue — low in formaldehyde emissions for clean, precise cuts. We can also sell these specialist panels to craftspeople, makers, hobbyists and businesses. Prices from 18/10/2023.

Sending Us Your Files

Follow these guidelines for the best results

Preferred Format

DXF is preferred. We also accept most vector file formats (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF) and high-resolution images with hard edges.

Important Requirements

Files should be in millimetres — this is our standard unit of measure.
Include a dimension on at least one part so we can verify the scale is correct.
In PDFs, convert all fonts to outlines (paths) before sending.
AI files with duplicate internal and external lines will cause issues — please simplify and clean up your artwork before sending.
